Job Description
iSOCRATES seeks a Manager, Technology (MT) who is highly analytical, process-oriented and has IT systems and software development, communications, and problem-solving skills to lead a team of architects, engineers, developers, DevOps, and QA resources. As MT, you will be a major contributor in building out the organizational culture and establishing engineering and team best practices by providing technical support and direction regarding new and existing technologies, operational standards, and staff development. You can create business architecture models that aligns with the overall product strategies and goals.
Responsibilities
- The Manager, Technology will oversee software engineers, QA, and DevOps functions
- Work with internal department stake holders as well as clients (partners) in gathering the requirement
- Able to analyze the product usage data from LIVE environments to identify strategies that can optimize operational costs and improve application maintainability
- Identify bottlenecks in applications and devise solutions to ensure the best possible performance, quality, scalability, security and responsiveness of the applications
- Experience in cloud computing (e.g., applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, data), as well as cloud market and competitive dynamics
- 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect in either a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer facing role
- Review requirements related to integrations, data visualizations by the BI team
- You will be a major contributor in building out the organizational culture and establishing engineering and team best practices
- Provide daily guidance, mentorship, and coaching to your team. Establish processes to ensure career growth and development of developers on the team
- Hire, mentor and grow team members
- Improve development processes, with Agile emphasis
- Leverage innovation to create new and better ways for the organization to be successful
- Expert communication and presentation skills working with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working in a fast-pace, high-pressure, and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), processes and procedures
- Deliver root cause analyses and coach others on doing them, in collaboration with other teams, as well as leading development to improve engineering and process performance
- Be able to lead complicated technical issues while sharing status updated with management and customers
- Provide technical support and direction regarding new or existing technologies, operational standards, and staff development
- Provides direction and encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
- Become a subject matter expert
- Direct and oversee the development and release processes
- Establish policies and producers to assure high-quality software products
- Work with teams to establish and meet target timelines and KPIs
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
- B2B Enterprise SaaS development experience
- Marketing and/or Advertising and/or Media industry data and technology experience
- Experience working with AWS stack (S3, SQS, RDS, Lambda and API Gateway among other services)
- Experience with other backend (Java, Node/JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Python) and frontend (React, JavaScript…) languages
- Working experience in Tableau, Sisense, Dataroma, PowerBI, Looker, or similar BI platforms and data visualization expertise
- End-to-end knowledge from data architecture to tech arch to function to processes
- Candidate must bring in expert understanding of cloud computing, IAAS, PaaS, SaaS and cloud application design pattern
- Experience in building scalable and reliable distributed products/systems
- Working experience with APIs, webservices, API engineering, ETL/ELT and Data Migration
- Drive technology roadmaps and take up research/POC work for new tools/technology solutions to support product roadmap
- Hands-on technical experience in design/code-reviews/coding
- Hiring a team of high performing software development professionals & leading teams through change
- Angular, React JS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Bootstrap, W3.CSS, Node JS and jQuery
- API engineering
- ETL/ELT and Data Migration
- Azure/AWS Cloud Services, CI/CD pipeline with Dockers, Containers, Micro-frontend, and micro-services
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Agile Methodology, Waterfall Model, SOA, SAAS, MVC
- UI/UX Framework
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to work through ambiguity
- A detailed hands-on developer with the ability to drive strategies and make suitable recommendations

- Min. education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related quantitative field required (Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration, preferred)
